Beach description

Sai Kaew is the most popular and beautiful beach on Koh Samet Island, located on its east coast. It's also part of the Khao Laem Ya National Park. The coastline is 780 m long and its width varies from 20 to 30 meters. The sea bottom is covered in white grainy sand. The water is transparent and very clean and the depth rises gradually. The first 30-50 meters are shallow, perfect for families with children. Sai Kaew also has a lot of tropical greenery and palm trees that provide added protection from the heat of the sun.

The beach becomes wider during low tides, and it's very nice to walk here during evenings. The coastline is always well-kept and clean, despite the large crowds of tourists. Boulders can be found in some parts of the beach.

When is it better to go

The period from November to March is considered the high season in Thailand. Comfortable air temperature, as well as minimal rainfall create optimal conditions for a beach holiday.
