Wadi Kulaan beach

Kulaan is a unique quiet place on the Red Sea coast. Wadi Kulaan is located in the Wadi El Gemal protected area in Marsa Alam. Here you can still enjoy the untouched, pristine nature. Its feature is the vast massifs of evergreen mangrove trees growing directly from the sea, in saltwater, among more than a hundred other plant species. Mangroves stretched along the coast for several kilometers.

Beach description

The beach is sandy, quiet, not deep. Waves are rare, winds are moderate. Wadi Kulaan is a favorite place for diving and scuba diving, despite the fact that relatively a few Egyptians know about this magical place. In addition to swimming, hiking is an excellent complement to relaxation, when you can observe wildlife and rare local species of birds and animals.

Another interesting fact: Al-Ababda - nomadic tribe lives in this area with hospitable customs and traditions, which makes it possible to enjoy the Bedouin atmosphere and drink tea or coffee, made according to a unique recipe by the natives themselves.

When is it better to go?

Red Sea resorts are open year-round. However, in July and August it is better to refrain from traveling, because there is unbearable heat, approximately 35-40 degrees, you can sunbathe in the sun instantly. May-June and September-October is the best time to travel to Egypt, because the heat is decreasing and hotel prices are getting lower (since the Mediterranean holiday season is still open).
