Ain Diab beach

Ain Diab Beach is one of Casablanca's main urban beaches, a popular destination for Moroccans to come with a family. It is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, 3 km from the town. People come here to swim, practice surfing, take a walk along the coast or sit in a coastal cafe just admiring the picturesque sunset and the power of the ocean waves.

Beach description

Ain Diab Beach is between rocky cliffs. It is a long and wide sandy strip uniting several beach sites:

  • municipal area with free admission;
  • areas near the hotel with a paid entrance;
  • private beach areas.

Along Ain Diab beach there is a promenade with the same name. In the morning it is actively used for jogging.

There are many reefs in the coastal zone. Due to the proximity of the cold current, the water in the ocean near the beach is also quite cold, thus there are few swimmers here. In addition, the presence of constant winds creates stable waves, which is why it is impossible to swim calmly here. But the beach is actively used by surfers. In high season, rescues watching that swimmers do not swim far are on duty at the beach.

The Ain Diab beach area is cleaner than other public beaches located within the city, for example, near the Hassan II Mosque. Nevertheless, there is often trash because of the waves here. And the presence of horses, camels and stray dogs in the public, municipal part of the beach does not contribute to its cleanliness. Ain Diab Beach is loved by locals. They come here with the whole families so there are a lot of children, adolescents, students and youth on the beach who are interested in water sports. There are several surf schools on the beach. There are swimming pools. Along the beach, police always run to ensure the safety of tourists.

Since Ain Diab Beach is part of the urban area, it’s easy to get to it:

  • on foot;
  • by city tram, bus, taxi or car.

When is the best time to go?
