Asilah beach
Asilah is the main beach area in the town of the same name located 3 km from it on the coast of a cozy natural harbor, south of the port of Tangier. Thanks to the pleasant atmosphere in the summer season, couples with children choose this place in order to enjoy a secluded beach holiday on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

Beach description
Asilah beach is a large wild coastal site located to the north of the city covered with golden sands and surrounded by beautiful hills. This is a quiet and peaceful place protected from the harsh Atlantic wind with a gentle entrance to the water and a soft surf. It is convenient for bathing children. Here you can’t quickly enter or leave the water but still here the entrance to the ocean here is much better than on other Asilah city beaches. A trip here should be planned for the whole day while you do not need to worry where you can eat and relax: There are several cafes along the beach. And seasonally rental beach equipment is available on the beach.
At the beginning of the high season, the beach is clean but at peak of the season due to the lack of high-quality cleaning, garbage can be found like everywhere on the beaches of Morocco.
The road to the beach will not be difficult, since it is close: at the end of the city promenade, a few minutes drive from the city center. You can get to Asilah Beach:
- after about 40 minutes on foot;
- by SUV. It is the best option if you go with your family;
- by motorking - a tricycle;
- by cart drawn by horses or donkeys if you want to try exotics.
The town can be reached by train or bus from Tangier, as well as from the Atlantic coast of Europe by sea boat.
When is the best time to go?
The beach season in Morocco opens in April and comes to a close in October. The best months to visit the resorts of this country are May-June and September-October.

Infrastructure
Along the beach in Asilah, there are several inexpensive beach cafes equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas where fish dishes are served. On the beach there is a rental of beach equipment: umbrellas and chairs but there are no showers. As for entertainment, there is a minimum set of water rides and the opportunity to ride along the coast on a camel.
Problems with housing due to proximity to the city do not arise at all. Asilah has several luxury and budget hotels with ocean view rooms. For example, 4 stars hotel Al Alba located just 100 meters from the beach.

Asilah is a famous cultural center of Morocco. Several art festivals take place here throughout the year. It looks especially impressive when artists exhibit their work on its streets. Then the town turns into a large art gallery.
Resting in Asilah, you can visit other beaches which are dominated by sand and stone cover:
- located 6 km south of the town, Paradise Beach is a cozy and sheltered from the wind corner on the bay where there are cafes and restaurants, as well as picturesque caves worthy of the attention of tourists. The path to the Paradise beach is rather difficult due to the broken road so the walk to the beach is a rather dubious pleasure, but otherwise the place is very pleasant;
- located north of Asilah, Africa beach is a quiet, secluded place equipped with sun loungers where there are cafes and toilets;
In the town of Asilah you can visit the old blue and white Medina, the Portuguese fortress, a port with many fishing boats, a dam, the Rassouli palace built in the Moorish style. Relaxing here, you should definitely visit the hammam with traditional Moroccan spa treatments and make a trip to the Rif Mountains or to the archaeological site of Lixus.
