Oualidia Lagoon beach

Oualidia Lagoon beach is located in cozy resort town of Oualidia, whose population is not more than 5500 people. Delightful, peaceful town of Oualidia is set around a magnificent crescent-shaped lagoon, fringed with golden sands and protected by a rocky breakwater from the wild surf that is common on the Atlantic coast.

Beach description

Oualidia Lagoon beach is chosen by families with children because of shallow water and gentle entrance to the water. But even the shallow depth of ocean does not prevent windsurfing and surfing on beach. Places are also recognized as the best in the country for kayaking. Beach area is protected from winds. Rains in this part of Morocco are rare, so in Oualidia Lagoon beach is always dry and warm and the local heat is not felt because of the refreshing ocean breeze.

Oualidia Lagoon beach is known for migratory pink flamingos, avocets, storks, sandpipers, terns, herons and nightingales that come to the lagoon and surrounding coastal wetlands.

In Oualidia Lagoon beach that shellfish and oyster farms are located, the preparation of which is specialized by local beach outdoor restaurants and bars.

When is the best time to go?

The beach season in Morocco opens in April and comes to a close in October. The best months to visit the resorts of this country are May-June and September-October.
