Beach description
The spacious area, covered in light, almost white, volcanic sand may seem deserted when compared to other beaches on the coast. A breathtaking view of the capital opens up from the cape. There's no beach infrastructure on Punta Chame, so it's advised to bring an umbrella, a sunbed, food and beverages with yourself. Several hotels, small restaurants and a private shop are located nearby.
The descent into water is sloping and the sea bottom is sandy. Quite a strong wash and wind guarantee great conditions for windsurfing and kiteboarding, so those who like these extreme activities will be able to find a perfect moment to ride the wave.
Bringing children to Punta Chame isn't the best option. If you want to, it's better to drive a bit farther to Farallon and Santa Clara beaches.
You can get to Punta Chame from Panama City by rented car via the Panamerican highway or by bus.
When is it better to go
