Rio Mar beach
The Rio Mar Beach is located in a secluded part of the Pacific coast of Panama, close to the town of San Carlos and about 100 km away from Panama City. This quiet uncrowded place, hidden away by the mountains and the lush tropical forest, is one of the most popular surfer beaches.

Beach description
Rio Mar, covered by the black and white volcanic sand and stones, isn't very suitable for family vacations with young children, swimming or sunbathing. Several cheap bars offer their services to the visitors. Rio Mar is known for its high waves that only the true surfing enthusiasts can appreciate.
You can get to Rio Mar by taxi or rented car from Panama City via the Panamerican highway.
When is the best time to go
Favorable time for a beach holiday in Panama begins in the second half of December and lasts until April. Air temperature during this period does not exceed + 32 °C, water temperature – not lower than + 23 °C. It is noteworthy that in the Caribbean Sea the water is several degrees warmer than on the Pacific coast.
