Venao beach

The Venao Beach is located 34 km away from the town of Pedasi in the Los Santos province in the south part of Asuero peninsula on the Pacific coast of Panama.

Beach description

The wide 2 km long coastline is covered in volcanic grey sand that gets warm in the sun and is hot to the touch of the feet. The descent is smooth and the sea bottom is sandy, but swimming is only allowed during the low tide when the coastal waters get 200 m away from the shore. The ocean surf, strong underwater currents and winds create waves as high as 4 meters, which attracts a lot of surfers and their admirers to Venao.

Venao is extremely popular but is never crowded. There's the Selina Playa Venao hostel on the coast with 30 suites for surfers, and it also has its own part of the beach, surfing school, lounge, parking lot for guests, bar-restaurant and pool. Those who didn't manage to book a suite in the hostel set up camps and parking lots near the beach. Children won't feel comfortable on Venao.
