Bolata beach
Bolata is a beach in a cozy bay located in the Kaliakra Nature Reserve, 14 km from Kavarna resort. It is little known among tourists, since mainly locals and diving fans rest here. Despite the fact that you can only get to the beach by car, in May it can be crowded.

Those who come to Bolata will be greeted by a small beach with clean water and golden sand, smooth descent and picturesque terracotta mountains that surround the area. The beach looks untouched and natural thanks to no building processes in the nearby area. The closest locality is the Bolgarevo village, located 5 km away from here. Infrastructure includes rental store, parking lot and a restaurant. This place is perfect for swimming and sunbathing, and water activities include boat rides around the water area that let you look at dolphins and seals; rock cave exploration, where remains of ancient settlements are found; tours to Cape Kaliakra, where you can see untouched nature and wild animals. Bolata is also a great place to visit for diving enthusiasts, who will have an opportunity to explore underwater rocks and gaze at sea fauna that inhabits the bay.
When is it better to go
The beach season in Bulgaria begins in May, although most of its resort areas at this time can only offer relaxation with swimming in the pool, because the sea is still cold. The choice of when to come to rest depends on personal preference. Those who cannot stand the summer heat should come in June or September, and women with children up to a year should also choose this time. For families with older children, a quality beach holiday is guaranteed from the beginning of July, when the sea warms up enough to swim in it without restrictions. The beach season ends at the end of September, although on some beaches in the southern part of the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria the sea remains warm until October.
