Golden Sands beach

The beach zone at Golden Sands is 3,5 km long and 50-100 m wide. It combines several neighboring areas, the most popular of which include:

• "Mojito"l;
• "Central";
• "Nirvana";
• "Riviera".

All Golden Sands beaches are comfortable and have showers, changing rooms, toilets, paid beach equipment, cafe and a rescue station.

The main feature of Central Beach (the main beach zone in Golden Sands) are its white umbrellas, massage is also available here. Due to the steep descent, sometimes muddy waters and high waves, this beach won't be ideal to bring children to.

Mojito Beach is the most popular place for youth, loud music blasts here all day long for the many visitors of the local bar. It's located near the center, so it's always crowded. As the beach is closed during the nights, its guests move to night clubs after the sunset. Mojito's main feature are its straw umbrellas that remind visitors of hot tropics.

Nirvana Beach, located a bit further from the center, is comfortable and doesn't see as many tourists due to its location. It's equipped with cozy sunbeds, has a cafe and all the needed beach infrastructure.

Riviera Beach consists of two zones - the spacious one free of sunbeds, and the one filled to the brim with paid deck chairs. The free zone always sees a huge amount of visitors, and guests include families with children, youth and elderly tourists. The paid zone is usually less crowded and, therefore, calmer. As the beach territory is fenced, entering is only possible through a hotel or the pier, but the entry is free. A long and smooth descent into water makes it perfect to bring your children to. Its only disadvantage is the lack of breakwater, which means occasional high waves, as well as seaweed near the shore.

You can get to Golden Sands from Varna by bus, taxi or car.

When is it better to go

The beach season in Bulgaria begins in May, although most of its resort areas at this time can only offer relaxation with swimming in the pool, because the sea is still cold. The choice of when to come to rest depends on personal preference. Those who cannot stand the summer heat should come in June or September, and women with children up to a year should also choose this time. For families with older children, a quality beach holiday is guaranteed from the beginning of July, when the sea warms up enough to swim in it without restrictions. The beach season ends at the end of September, although on some beaches in the southern part of the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria the sea remains warm until October.
