Pomorie beach

Pomorie is a beach strip about 4 km long in the territory of the resort town of the same name. Vacationers have the opportunity to enjoy a comfortable beach holiday, a unique climate and picturesque panoramic views.

Beach description

The coastal sand here is gray due to the high concentration of iron, some patches of it are almost black, while some are covered in stones. The sea is quite shallow, with low waves and smooth descent, the water is clean and warm. You can find spacious and crowded beaches during high seasons, as well as nudist zones.

Along the whole coast you can find well-developed parts that belong to the hotels and "wide" areas. All of them are free for all. The beaches near hotels have changing rooms, showers, toilets, rental stores as well as cafes, playgrounds and attractions.

If you come to Pomorie, it will be interesting to visit the nearby Lake Pomorie, known for its healing mud, a bird sanctuary, the biggest wine cellar in Bulgaria and salt mines.

When is it better to go

The beach season in Bulgaria begins in May, although most of its resort areas at this time can only offer relaxation with swimming in the pool, because the sea is still cold. The choice of when to come to rest depends on personal preference. Those who cannot stand the summer heat should come in June or September, and women with children up to a year should also choose this time. For families with older children, a quality beach holiday is guaranteed from the beginning of July, when the sea warms up enough to swim in it without restrictions. The beach season ends at the end of September, although on some beaches in the southern part of the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria the sea remains warm until October.
