Primorsko beach

Primorsko is a resort town in southern Bulgaria, famous for its clean, spacious beaches and a cozy bay with clear and warm water. It is located at the foot of the Strandzha mountain range, on the Peninsula between Stomoplo and Devil's bays. Primorsko has received the European Blue Flag Quality Award as a clean and safe beach for over 20 years.

Beach description

There are two beaches in Primorsko - 8 and 10 km long respectively, both covered in golden sand. They're called North Beach and South Beach due to their location. The lack of waves and bad weather, combined with a smooth descent and gradual depth rise, makes this resort perfect for children. Groups of young tourists also come here a lot to spend time at the local youth center.

It's quite crowded in Primorsko during high season, especially in the central part. If you want to find solitude, you'll need to go closer to the end of the beach.

It's not difficult to get to Primorsko. It'll take 45-50 minutes to get here from Burgas by taxi, car or bus. There's also a harbor here where pleasure crafts, yachts and boats stay, as well as an airport that takes flights from Europe.

When is it better to go

The beach season in Bulgaria begins in May, although most of its resort areas at this time can only offer relaxation with swimming in the pool, because the sea is still cold. The choice of when to come to rest depends on personal preference. Those who cannot stand the summer heat should come in June or September, and women with children up to a year should also choose this time. For families with older children, a quality beach holiday is guaranteed from the beginning of July, when the sea warms up enough to swim in it without restrictions. The beach season ends at the end of September, although on some beaches in the southern part of the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria the sea remains warm until October.
