Beach description
The descent into the water at Trsteno Beach is gentle and extends for approximately 50 meters. The shallows boast warm, pristine, and tranquil waters, with a sandy seabed. The unique configuration of the coastal cliffs shelters the bay from winds, making Trsteno particularly suitable for families with young children.
Within the area, there are designated paid sections on concrete platforms where the rental of sun loungers and umbrellas is available for €7 per set.
Trsteno Beach is a public beach that offers free access. Amenities include rental sun loungers, umbrellas, changing cabins, showers, and toilets. Additionally, visitors can rent catamarans, jet skis, and boats. Lifeguards are on duty to ensure safety. The beach also features a two-level restaurant, a café, a first-aid station, and a rescue service. Parking is available near the beach, with both paid (€3) and free options.
During the peak season, Trsteno Beach can become quite crowded. Locals from Budva and other coastal cities, along with tourists from various countries, come here to relax with their families. It is recommended to arrive early, as by 11 am, sun loungers and umbrellas are typically all taken, and it becomes challenging to find a vacant spot on the beach.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Montenegro for a beach vacation is during the summer months, when the country's Adriatic coast comes alive with sunny weather and warm sea temperatures. Here are the key points to consider:
- Peak Season: July and August are the peak tourist months, offering the hottest weather and a vibrant atmosphere. However, these months can also be crowded.
- Shoulder Season: For a more tranquil experience, consider June or September. The weather is still warm enough for swimming and sunbathing, but the crowds are thinner.
- Off-Peak Times: While May and October offer milder weather and fewer tourists, the sea may not be warm enough for everyone's comfort.
Ultimately, the best time for a beach vacation in Montenegro depends on your preferences for weather, water temperature, and crowd levels. For the warmest sea and liveliest beach scene, aim for the peak summer months. For a more relaxed visit with pleasant conditions, the shoulder season is ideal.
