Beach description
Francesa Beach is a 435 meter long bay covered with golden fine sand, which is gradually turning into a series of low dunes. The bay is perfectly protected from the wind and has extensive shallow water, so there are no waves on the beach. There are excellent conditions for swimming and snorkeling - in the lagoon there are many fish and other underwater inhabitants.
On the beach there is no way to rent equipment for recreation or water sports. This is a wild stretch of coast, which is not well-maintained. There are also no hotels near the beach, the nearest ones are located in Orsola.
When is it better to go
Lanzarote has the coolest climate in the Canary Archipelago. The island has virtually no vegetation and no natural protection from the winds. In summer, the air temperature rises to +26 °C, water – up to 20 °C.
