Papagayo beach
Papagayo is the most famous Lanzarote beach located in the south of the island. It is located in a nature reserve, so it offers the opportunity to relax among the unspoilt nature of the Canary.

Beach description
Papagayo is an extended sand crescent by the calm ocean waters. High cliffs surround the bay from all sides, going deep into the ocean. The beach is well protected from the wind, there are no strong waves here. The conditions for swimming are excellent, as there is an extended shallow water, a gentle entry into the water and a sandy bottom.
This place on the coast of Lanzarote is very popular among tourists, so in the summer Papagayo is very crowded.
The beach is wild, reserved, so there are no additional conditions for recreation - only sand, rocks and the ocean. Upstairs, at the descent to the shore, there are two cafes with beautiful views of the surroundings. There is parking as well.
Papagayo is located away from the settlements, but a large selection of hotels nearby can be found in the nearby resort of Playa Blanca. The nearest hotels are about 2 km from the beach.
When is it better to go
Lanzarote has the coolest climate in the Canary Archipelago. The island has virtually no vegetation and no natural protection from the winds. In summer, the air temperature rises to +26 °C, water – up to 20 °C.
