Surin beach
Surin is a 1km picturesque beach which is located in a bay in the central part of western coast of Phuket Island. Along the beach line, in the shade of dense tropical vegetation stretches a long promenade. In the Northern part of the beach rises a massive rock that separates Surin from Pansy Bay. On the other side a stone promontory, overgrown with greenery, cuts into the sea.

Beach description
Surin covered with a thick layer of fine golden-white sand, comfortable for barefoot. The descent into the sea is flat, the bottom is sandy. During the windy weather form waves. During storms, many hollows forms on the bottom, which are dangerous for swimmers. It's recommended to swim in special shoes because people can step on a sea urchin. In the depth back streams are created, and even advanced swimmers may not keep up with them. It's dangerous to leave children in the water without supervision.
From the North, a small Casuarina grove approaches the beach line, and in the South there are palm trees, but there is little natural shade. On the well-groomed territory there are paid air mattresses and chairs, sun beds in the form of sofas, umbrellas, showers. Paid toilet is in the cafe. The beach is popular and crowded. Among tourists are people of all ages. A lot of families with children, older people and youth.
When is it better to go
The best time for a beach holiday in Phuket lasts from November to April or May. The weather during this period is sunny, calm, the sea is calm, there are almost no waves. The height of the beach season falls on December, when a number of major international holidays are added to water activities. Prices for airline tickets, accommodation, services, food and transportation are at their maximum.

Right on the beach and nearby are several 2 and 5 star hotels offering good conditions of accommodation, quality service, well-maintained stretch of beach. Guests are offered comfortable rooms with air conditioning, restaurants, bars, pools, fitness centers, spa and gyms.

On promenade, under the shades of tropical vegetation, located several restaurants, cafes, bars. shops with various food, many mobile kitchens offering a wide range of Thai dishes, snacks, fruit. Restaurants are open from morning till late night, untill the last guest leave the place. Many Thai dishes can be ordered: chicken with noodles or rice, seasoned with a mixture of spices, oysters, fish, mussels. Wide range of drinks is offered: from tea, coffee, soft and sweet fizzy drinks to strong alcoholic. In the afternoon a lot of peddlers on the beach work, who can offer ice cream, fruit, drinks.
What to do
Surin has water equipment rental. Tourists can do parasailing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, banana boating, water skiing and hydrocycle riding. The pontoon bridge is equipped for diving to a depth. Several massage salons open, however, experienced travelers advise to use the services of massage therapists in city salons, because on the beach you can fall into the hands of a random person who has the most superficial ideas about massage techniques.
