Bois Jolan beach

Many tourists find Bois Jolan Beach by driving just a few kilometers from St. Ann through sugarcane fields. On weekdays, there is complete peace, so you can enjoy solitude by hanging your hammock between coconut trees. There are a few more people only on weekends.

Beach description

The road near the beach is unpaved and bumpy which may cause some difficulties, especially during downfall. But the solitude of this beach make it popular among those who don't like crowded areas. Palms grow right near the turquoise-emerald shore. When finding a place to lay and sunbathe, don't forget to look up, or you may risk getting injured by a heavy falling coconut.

White sand and a very gentle shore that stretches for a kilometer is beloved by visitors with children. You won't need to worry about your kids, as the water is calm and the lagoon is protected by a coral reef from the sea side. You'll have to walk for a long time if you want to reach deep waters, but you can look at the transparent small fish as you do.

The beach is public. Walking a few meters from the spacious parking lot, you may see:

  • A great place for relaxation and activity with a beautiful landscape.
  • BBQ at the beach, swimming and snorkeling opportunities (equipment needs to be taken care of beforehand).
  • Food is brought by the visitors for a lovely picnic. For those who didn't bring food, you can eat in a restaurant at the beach during lunch. Shops, food trucks and other conveniences are absent at the beach. Food vendors can sometimes appear, offering sandwiches and ice.
  • Be careful while walking through backwaters, as sea urchins live there.
  • Hens and cows occasionally can be seen here.

When is the best time to go?

It is best to go to Guadeloupe from December to May, as the weather at this time is set dry and fresher than in other months. However, it should be borne in mind that in December, during the holidays, many tourists arrive to celebrate Christmas and New Year, which affects prices.
