Souffleur beach

The beach is located in the northwestern part of Grand Terre Island in Port Louis. It attracts mainly lovers of water sports, as constantly blowing winds on the coast create high waves. The water because of this "movement" is muddy and with algae, so couples with children prefer other beaches in the vicinity. Nevertheless, children's laughter is also heard here.

Beach description

Souffleur Beach is typically crowded. But the atmosphere becomes more romantic and calm in the evening, as public transport stops circulating early.

The depth rises gradually, waters are quite shallow near the shore. Waves reach it easily. Soft white sand makes it a comfortable surface to walk on without slippers. Children will feel comfortable here too. There are no bars or restaurants at the beach, but food trucks with locally made beverages are aplenty. The main feature of this beach is sherbet - coconut ice cream - that can be purchased at every shop leading to the beach.

When is the best time to go?

It is best to go to Guadeloupe from December to May, as the weather at this time is set dry and fresher than in other months. However, it should be borne in mind that in December, during the holidays, many tourists arrive to celebrate Christmas and New Year, which affects prices.
