Beach description
The shore, protected from the winds by vegetation covered with sand dunes, is covered with fine white sand. The descent into the water is gentle, the bottom is sandy and comfortable for the feet. The tidal wave is high, the water is warm. There are rental points for sunbeds and umbrellas, cafes and restaurants. At the height of the season, the beach is filled with tourists and locals, but it is never crowded due to the impressive width and length of the coast. On the sand warmed by the sun, children feel quite comfortable.
Grotto gained world fame thanks to the annual migration of whales, which swim only 15-20 meters from the coast. The city holds festivals dedicated to this stunning event. Thousands of wildlife lovers come to Hermanus to enjoy the fantastic sight.
When is it better to go
