Muizenberg beach

Meusenberg is located in the eponymous suburb of Cape Town, at the point where the Cape Peninsula turns east to the shore of Falls Bay.

Beach description

Meusenberg is a wide beach covered with fine white sand. The descent is smooth and the bottom is sandy. The waves are relatively low. On the beach it is comfortable to relax both the elderly and families with young children. Young people enjoy surfing, playing beach volleyball and baseball. It is believed that it was on Muisenberg that African surfing was born. You can do parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, water skiing.

On the territory there is a rental of sunbeds and umbrellas, rescue services work. The Falls Bay is home to a large population of white sharks. When sea predators approach swimmers and surfers, rescuers signal a danger. From the coast above Meisenberg there are a number of steep cliffs, very popular among rock climbing enthusiasts. However, some sections of the cliffs are not accessible to climbers due to birds that nest on rocky ledges.

When is it better to go

The best time for a beach holiday and swimming on the coast of South Africa falls in the low season – from November to March.  The water temperature in the Indian Ocean rises to + 23-25 °C, in the Atlantic – to + 18-20 °C. The air temperature reaches + 30 °C, but the fresh ocean breeze makes you feel comfortable.
