Beach description
Surrounded by cliffs, a wild and sandy-rocky beach is an ideal place for windsurfing and kitesurfing. High waves, winds and cold water scare away swimming enthusiasts from Scarborough. The beach is almost always deserted, with the exception of surfers, adherents of relaxation in solitude and lovers of full-scale shots and videos against the backdrop of the stormy ocean.
You can get to the beach from anywhere in Cape Town by bus to Scarborough stop, by taxi or by rented car on the navigator. The suburb is only 40 km from the center of the capital.
When is it better to go
The best time for a beach holiday and swimming on the coast of South Africa falls in the low season – from November to March. The water temperature in the Indian Ocean rises to + 23-25 °C, in the Atlantic – to + 18-20 °C. The air temperature reaches + 30 °C, but the fresh ocean breeze makes you feel comfortable.
