Monastir beach
Monastir is located on a cape criss-crossing the Mediterranean Sea, from where long and narrow stretches of beach covered with fine light beige sand stretch for tens of kilometers on both sides. Monastir is a good place for a quiet and budget holiday.

Beach description
The popular beaches of Monastir include:
- the central municipal beach of Karaia is about 700 m long and about 20 m wide, next to the promenade, popular with locals. There are umbrellas and sun loungers for rent, a restaurant and a bar. The water is clean, transparent, the sea is calm, almost without waves;
- the beach of Sidi Mansour borders on the central. The citizens and guests of the hotel across the street swim and sunbathe there.;
- the beaches of Sqanes, covered with fine white sand, are divided between beach hotels. There are free plots with unlimited access;
- Eddhil beach between Monastir and Skanes, where residents and guests of city hotels stay.
There are several other beaches around the city, which are popular with locals and almost unknown to tourists.
All beaches are characterized by a gentle descent into the sea, clean water, developed beach infrastructure. It's comfortable to spend your holidays with children in Monastir. The city has many budget hotels, which provide all conditions for parents with children of all ages.
The most important sights of Monastir:
- The Great Mosque of the IX century;
- 8th century fortification Ribat with Islamic Museum in the prayer room;
- Mausoleum of Habib Bourguiba, the first president of the country, in the Muslim cemetery of Sidi al-Mezeri;
- Habib Bourguiba Mosque.
There is a yacht club in the port, diving center, golf club, amusement park.
When is it better to go
Tunisia is located in two climatic zones — tropical and subtropical. The swimming season opens in May and lasts until October. During this period, the least amount of precipitation falls, calm weather prevails, the sea is calm, and a storm rarely occurs. In July and August it becomes especially hot. Air temperature exceeds +40°C. In August, it sometimes storms.
