Zarzis beach

The beaches are covered with very fine white sand. The descent is smooth and the bottom is sandy. The sea is still. It's especially comfortable to stay in Zarzis with small children.

Thanks to its impressive width, the beaches of Zarzis are half deserted. Tourists from France, Germany, Great Britain, USA prefer to spend their holidays there. Zarzis is not the most popular destination for Russian tourists.

The beaches have adequate infrastructure. There are water sports centers and water equipment rental centers. There are restaurants and cafes in the beach hotels area available to guests.

In Zarzis, you should visit the Archaeological Museum and the harbor, which, apart from fishing boats, has pirate ships built for tourists. In the vicinity of the city, you will find the oasis of Zarzis, where 100000 date palms and 700000 olive trees grow.

You can get to Zarzis from the airport of Djerba Island by taxi, intercity bus or by rented car.

When is it better to go

Tunisia is located in two climatic zones — tropical and subtropical. The swimming season opens in May and lasts until October. During this period, the least amount of precipitation falls, calm weather prevails, the sea is calm, and a storm rarely occurs. In July and August it becomes especially hot. Air temperature exceeds +40°C. In August, it sometimes storms.
