Livada beach

Livada is located 19 km from Chora in the northwestern part of the island. If you want to enjoy wild beauties and see violent foamy waves in splendid isolation, without children's cries, noise and busy trade, you have a direct road to Livada. It is considered to be one of the most impressive beaches of Tinos.

Beach description

No other beach of the island has such views. It is surrounded with an oak grove, and its beach is covered with large pebbles and giant stony boulders protruding far into the sea. For this reason, bathing with small kids can be complicated. Moreover, waters are rather deep here that can become an obstacle for less experienced swimmers.

By the beach, there is a colorful place for a walk: a lake with ducks and a river flowing into the sea (that's why water here is a bit colder than in other places) surrounded with centuries-old oaks. It will be interesting to walk here and to breathe fresh salty air. By the way, the air is also clean due to the fact taht there are no roads going directly to the beach. It is rather difficult to get here by car. Anyway, you'll have to cover a considerable distance on your feet from the place where you leave the car.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
