Larga Beach

Larga Beach is located east of the city of Zihuatanejo. The place is a long, flat bay of the Pacific Ocean. The lagoon itself is about 12 kilometers long.

Beach description

The beach occupies only its western part, not far from the highway, leading from the city, and next to Ecoturisto Park. The park itself is  well-groomed and intended primarily for leisurely rest. There are hotels along it and the coastline. There are also many cafes of various levels of service and price category.

Although the place itself cannot be considered a city, the tourist area is cultivated and massively built up. It is connected to Ciutanejo and its suburbs El Coacoyul with convenient highway.

Sand on the beach is of a bright yellow hue, which is especially dazzling and stands out against the general background in sunny weather. The sea in the beach area is shallow. Depth can be observed to the eastern part of the bay, where the public beach ends and small pebbles and small glade of shingle begin. In the case of a westerly or northerly wind, a wave may be noticed. If the wind blows from the south, a wave, in which it will be almost impossible to swim, can be piled up from the depths of the ocean.

When is the best time to go?

From May to October, heavy rains and tornadoes are usually played off the Mexican coasts. So the best time to visit the country is from November to March. However, it should be mindful of that prices in the high season are higher than usual.
