Tecolote Beach

Playa de Tecolote is located just north of the Bay of Bahia Puerto Balandra, which is a conservation area. This place is located in a deserted and rocky area on the coast of the Gulf of California almost at its very beginning. This area is extremely sunny, there are precipitations only occasionally. And from the outside, everything can resemble a sandy-rocky desert.

Beach description

The beach itself can be considered to be almost ten kilometers long. However, a cultivated place near hotels and bungalows is about a couple of kilometers, while being a few kilometers wide. The road from neighboring La Paz comes up directly to the beach. There are a lot of place for parking, it is possible to choose any point you like near restaurants or cafes.

The sand on the beach is snow-white, goes gently into the sea. The beach is limited by dark cliffs, but they are only on the sides. Due to the open area on the coastline, a high wave can sometimes be noticed. Depth gradually increases towards the eastern part of the beach. From the coast, the depth in height of an adult begins at a distance of about twenty-twenty five meters.

When is the best time to go?

From May to October, heavy rains and tornadoes are usually played off the Mexican coasts. So the best time to visit the country is from November to March. However, it should be mindful of that prices in the high season are higher than usual.
