Fig Tree beach

Fig Tree Bay, according to various classifications, is among the twenty best in the world and the top ten best beaches in Europe. Located in the center of the famous resort of Protaras. The beach, like the bay in which it is comfortably located, is called the Fig Tree. From the former grove, which gave the name to the whole coast, there is not much left, now it is adorned with only one rarity tree, but in the company with the Blue Flag.

Beach description

The hotel building has recently been renovated, equipped with new furniture, the rooms are clean and comfortable, several food systems have been introduced. It is very close to the sea, within walking distance of all the establishments that may be of interest to vacationers. There are almost 4 dozen restaurants.

Those stores that operate at hotels sell beach accessories, souvenirs, cosmetics. The latter is usually sold in pharmacies, and tourists should pay attention to it. Soap, locally made creams are made on the basis of olive oil.

As for souvenirs, the most popular ones are images and figurines of donkeys. They are one of the symbols of the island. Jewelry is popular. Small shops may not accept cards and sometimes a minimum price of 15-20 euros is set. Discounts are available in February and August.

Cheap and high-quality clothing, products are difficult to find in Protaras. A popular and such a high-class resort has reasonable prices in supermarkets. Compared to Moscow, they are 3-4 times higher. You can have a cheap meal in eateries and numerous fast-food cafes. Restaurants above offer a wider range and quality of service, respectively, a higher price tag.

Useful information

  1. After landing at Larnaca Airport, it is better to go to Protaras by a pre-ordered transfer. Taxis are easiest to book through online reservations. There are shuttle bus routes, for those who have the license it will be convenient to ride a rented car.
  2. The off-season in Fig Tree is short, and many tourists come here to relax in November-February, when it is deserted and easy to breathe. July-August is very hot, but sea breezes make life a little easier during the heat.
