Pissouri Bay beach

Located on the southern coast of Cyprus on the road from Limassol to Paphos, marked with the Blue Flag. Previously, there was a fishing port belonging to the small village of Pissouri, located in the neighborhood, but recently the resort has been actively developing and building up. Modern hotels and other real estate properties have grown on the coast that attract foreign tourists and investors who want to buy housing here. Despite this, Pissouri managed not to lose his charm and maintain a unique Cypriot atmosphere. The village often hosts "Cypriot nights" with national songs and dances, as well as harvest festivals, which bring together guests and residents of the island.

Beach description

The beach is located in a cozy picturesque bay, surrounded by rocky capes. One and a half kilometer coastline is covered with medium-sized pebbles with small intersperses of golden sand. The sea in the bay is relatively calm, crystal clear, amazing turquoise color. Near the coast it is deep enough, the bottom is rocky, so you should carefully monitor small children and not leave them unattended.

The beach is equipped with toilets, changing rooms and showers, there are sun loungers and sunshades. For motorists free parking is provided. Visitors can play volleyball, enjoy water rides, diving and windsurfing. There is a rental point for sports equipment on the shore, there are diving and sailing schools in the village.

Access to Pissouri is free, however, like everywhere else in Cyprus. From April to October, surveillance of rescuers is organized, who daily from ten in the morning to six in the evening monitor the safety of vacationers and are ready to provide the necessary assistance.

All basic amenities are located in the central part of the beach, while its western and eastern extremities remain virtually untouched. Seabirds love to nest in the rocks. If you are lucky, you can even find rare green turtles.

Beyond Cape Asprotos, in the eastern part of the bay, there are small sandy bays where nudists prefer to relax. They are reliably hidden from prying eyes by an accumulation of huge boulders and are marked with Nude Beach plates.

Thanks to the modern highway running near the village, getting to Pissouri is very easy. A trip from Limassol or Paphos by taxi or rented car will not take more than twenty minutes, and regular bus services run from these cities.

When is it better to go?

The holiday season begins in Cyprus at the end of April, when the water in the sea warms up enough to feel comfortable for swimming. June – is the most comfortable month for relaxation: the temperature is pleasant, up to 26 to 30 degrees, the sea breeze freshes and tones up. In July-August, the island becomes too thick and glowing, but in September-October, comfortable conditions turn back again.
