Finikoudes beach

Located on the southern coast of Cyprus within the city of Larnaca. One of the best public beaches on the island, awarded the Blue Flag for its cleanliness and level of service. Finikoudes (“small palms”) got its name in honor of a palm alley planted along the coast in 1922. Since then, the trees have grown to gigantic proportions, but the name has remained the same. It is easy to get to the beach: it is located right in the city center between the old and new ports. Shuttle buses run regularly from remote areas; the bus stop is near the main entrance.

Beach description

The beach is quite spacious (length - 5oo meters, width - 100), covered with large grayish sand of volcanic origin. The sea is clean and shallow, the entry to the water is sloping, the bottom is flat, sandy and absolutely safe. The beach is ideal for families with young children - in the high season there are practically no waves, the water is very warm, and to get to the depth, you need to move a couple of tens of meters from the shore.

Fans of beach activities can ride on bananas, catamarans, jet skis and water skiing, there is the opportunity to fly with a parachute or do a fashionable flyboard.

The beach is equipped with everything necessary, there are toilets, changing rooms, showers and fresh water fountains. Rental of sunbeds and loungers is paid, those who wish to save can be accommodated on their own towels. Along the shore there are benches and gazebos for relaxing, ramps are equipped for the disabled. Rescuers monitor the order, they are also ready to provide the necessary medical care.

The beach is quite crowded and lively, especially in high season. Parking lots are usually crowded, so tourists are forced to leave cars on adjacent streets. It is important to comply with the parking rules adopted in Cyprus, so as not to incur the wrath of the local police.

When is it better to go?

The holiday season begins in Cyprus at the end of April, when the water in the sea warms up enough to feel comfortable for swimming. June – is the most comfortable month for relaxation: the temperature is pleasant, up to 26 to 30 degrees, the sea breeze freshes and tones up. In July-August, the island becomes too thick and glowing, but in September-October, comfortable conditions turn back again.
