Mackenzie beach

Mackenzie is a sandy beach in the vicinity of Larnaca with a perfectly flat surface and warm light-blue water. It is famous for fine-grained and pleasant to the touch sand, impeccable cleanliness (confirmed by the Blue Flag Award), clean air. Its length exceeds 1 km, and its width reaches 40 m.

The beach is famous for its smooth set of depth, shallow and calm sea, crystal-clear water. Mackenzie is suitable for families with children, swimming, sunbathing and walking. It also offers the following activities:

• windsurfing and kitesurfing;
• jet ski rides;
• parasailing (parachuting);
• diving and snorkelling;
• banana swims;
• boat tours;
• water skiing.

The beach is decorated with lush palm trees, colorful umbrellas, small architectural forms. From its shore, people admire the endless sea, picturesque buildings, tourist liners and private yachts. Especially beautiful landscapes are observed in the early morning and at sunset.

Mackenzie Beach is ideal for lazy relaxation, leisurely walks, intimate conversations and romantic dinners by the sea. In the tourist season, a lot of people relax here. On weekdays, the coast is filled with tourists at 9-10 in the morning. On weekends and major holidays, good places are dealt with even earlier. However, you can come here after dinner too - there is always a free seat on the periphery of the beach.

There id interesting fact: Mackenzie is located 1000 meters from Cyprus International Airport. Local aircraft flying to the runway fly over vacationers at a very low altitude. But do not worry - for 44 years of operation of the airport there has not been a single disaster. The local population perceives the liners as a strange attraction.

Mackenzie Beach is popular among Cypriots and foreign tourists due to the low crime rate, calm atmosphere, beautiful scenery. There are paths for walking, running, cycling. 280 days a year in this area bright sun reigns, clear skies and calm weather.

Please note: Mackenzie is characterized by shallow water and the absence of waves. From June to October, rescuers are on duty on its territory. For these and other reasons, the beach is ideal for families with children. Mackenzie is located within walking distance from the center of Larnaca. It is available 24 hours a day.

When is it better to go?

The holiday season begins in Cyprus at the end of April, when the water in the sea warms up enough to feel comfortable for swimming. June – is the most comfortable month for relaxation: the temperature is pleasant, up to 26 to 30 degrees, the sea breeze freshes and tones up. In July-August, the island becomes too thick and glowing, but in September-October, comfortable conditions turn back again.
