Beach description
The territory of Agios Giannakis is covered with sand mixed with white pebbles. Azure bay waters border on the emerald hills and light yellow rocks on the beach edges, thus, protecting it from winds. Underwater rocks became home to many kinds of beautiful fish, which makes Agios Giannakis a place suitable for snorkeling.
The beach is rather narrow, with the smooth sea entry. There is gravel on the bottom, so it's better to use special sandals for swimming. Agios Giannakis is non-equipped, it doesn't have any umbrellas or sling chairs, its infrastructure is represented only by a small canteen, so you'll have to think about all the rest. Agios Giannakis is a virgin beach where one can feel the real Greek flair.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
