Diakofti beach
Diakofti is a quiet beach located in the eastern part of the island of Kythira. It is known for soft cream-colored sand, a large number of trees, rocky cliffs and huge boulders. Nearby there is a small village with grocery stores, cozy cafes, mini-hotels and colorful buildings in the traditional Greek style.

The magnificent mountains begin 200 m from the beach and offer a beautiful view of the Aegean Sea and the surrounding forests. You can climb on its along one of the paths in the surroundings of the village. The best time for climbing the peaks - early morning or afternoon.
Diakofti is characterized by a smooth depth difference, strong and refreshing wind, soft sea bottom. About half of local vacationers are families with children. Also, the beach attracts surfers, fans of secluded vacation, "lazy tourists". You can visit it at any time of the day - there is always a free place.
Infrastructure of Diakofti includes sunbeds, sunscreen umbrellas, beach bars and cafes. There are toilets, shower stalls, changing rooms. Vacationers are offered tours, boat trips and cultural events. A little tip: taste local fruits and fish - they are delicious.
The beach is located 7 km from the main airport of the island. You can get here by a taxi, bus, private transport.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
