Beach description

This place is loved by the capital inhabitants, and tourists who just start knowing the island closer. That is why, the beach is rather crowded, but, due to its size, room can be found here even in the high season. Far to the north, Delfini Bay is located which is often taken for Parasporos. It is smaller and not as picturesque, and one should just strictly follow the pointers in order not to go far afield.

Parasporos is located in a cozy crescent-shaped bay. It is surrounded with small rocky capes, and with spreading tamarisks from the beach. The beach line is wide and rather long, covered with soft golden sand with some pebbles here and there. The sea is clean, clear, of an amazing turquoise color. The bottom is sand, smooth, stones and underwater boulders occur closer to rocks.

Frequent winds, able to raise rather high waves, are typical for these places. This feature attracts windsurfers, and the fans of snorkeling will have to pick other places for their activity, or monitor the weather strictly.

The beach central part is equipped with deck chairs, sun tents, washing houses and water closets. Prices here are rather high, so people wishing to save money can use their own towels - there is more than enough room. Closer to the rocks, tehre is a favorite place of people who enjoy sunbathing topless and companies who came for a picnic.

You can spend the entire day on the beach in comfort: exuberant trees bring the salutary shadow, аnd beach taverns and bars suggest you to satisfy hunger and to freshen up with cold drinks. For entertainment, there are aquatic facilities, beach volleyball and hot dances at loud toe-tapping music. In the evening, fashion parties are often held at the beach that gather youth ready to have fun until the very morning. That is why people who value calm and steady beach relaxation should avoid the high season (July-August), and choose different time for vacations on Parasporos.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
