Santa Maria beach

The beach consists of two conditional zones visually divided by a small stony pier protruding into the sea. Micro santa Maria is located closer to the camping, and the main part is situated closer to the road and the parking lot. Both beaches are equipped with all the facilities required for comfortable recreation. The rent of sling chairs is a little bit more exopensive than on the other island resrts, and prices for food and drinks "bite" as well.

The sea in the beach marine area is clear and transparent like a tear, of the magnificent emerald shade. Water is usually still in the morning, and small waves rise starting from noon. The bottom is sandy and safe, without sharp depth drops and large stones. Tourists' safety is protected by rescuers from special towers, there is the first aid station, and the mother’s room.

The beach offers a wide range of entertaining activities for any taste and budget. Here, you can enjoy water games, engage in parachuting, rent a catamaran, a hydrocycle or a kayak, try windsurfing and sapboarding, and engage into diving and snorkeling. For scuba-divers, the beach has a diving center renting all the required equipment.

On this beach, you can play volley-ball, held the mini football tournament, and take part in dance battles and take several lessons from experienced dancers.

Closer to afternoon heat, people move to the beach club Santa Maria opening at noon. Visitors are offered cocktails, cool beer, various salads, and seafood. You can be served your drinks and hookah right on the beach, though, you will have to wait for your waiter for some time in the high season.

People preferring increased comfort and delicious dishes will definitely like Nava Lounge restaurant situated close to the beach club. From its snow white terrace, you will enjoy the magnificent view of the sea and Naksos island, and the menu and servicing meets he highest European standards.

Closer to the evening, the beach turns into the noisy youth party from fashionable DJs: loud music is playing, and waiters with beer and cocktails work on the beach. People have fun almost all night long, and the parties end with the first sunrays only. This should be taken into account when choosing accommodation options in order to have a possibility to enjoy night silence and calmness.

It's very easy to get to Santa Maria: a scheduled bus goes right to the beach, or you can go there from Naussa on feet. For car owners, a rather spacious free parking lot, functions; however, it can have no room in the high season (July-August).

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
