Aeginitissa beach

Located in the western part of the island two kilometers from the village of Perdika and is one of the best in Aegina. This beach is even included to the list of attractions of the island due to its beauty and stunning sunsets that will remain in your memory for a lifetime.

Beach description

Cozy sandy beach surrounded by lush eucalyptus grove, which gives a lifesaving shade and exudes a divine scent. The sea is relatively shallow and calm, with a wonderful turquoise hue, and the water is smooth, flat and safe. All necessary conditions have been created here for a comfortable and pleasant stay for both adults and children: There are comfortable sun loungers and umbrellas, showers and locker rooms, sports and children's playgrounds.

The beach is quite crowded and lively, especially on weekends, when the residents of mainland Greece rush here for the weekend. Here you can do yoga, yachting, parachuting or paragliding, learn stand up paddle boarding and flyboarding, which recently became popular.

Tourists are also attracted to the many different bars and taverns located right on the beach and competing with each other in the fight for customers. Some of them lure visitors with exotic cocktails, the best on the coast, others invite trendy DJs, while others try to surprise with impressive discounts. And on the weekends, the beach turns into a loud youth party, one of the most popular on the island.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

Useful information

Resting in these places, you should definitely visit Perdika and explore its surroundings. The ancient fishing village has preserved the unique spirit and color of medieval Greece, so a leisurely walk along its narrow cobbled streets will be a real pleasure for active curious tourists.

And the main decoration of the village is the harbor and the majestic church of St. Sazon, towering on the very edge of the cape. It offers a magnificent view of the uninhabited island of Moni, located opposite and famous for its wild picturesque beaches. You can get on it by boat, which runs on schedule from the harbor, or by yourself, renting a boat or yacht.
