Vlichos beach
Located in the western part of the island of Hydra, two kilometers from the island’s capital of the same name, where ferries from mainland Greece arrive. You can walk to the beach along a picturesque coastal path or ride on a donkey, while admiring the scenery. Also, a water taxi runs from the port directly to Vlychosa.

Beach description
The beach is a small picturesque bay, covered with smooth pebbles and protected from strong winds and waves by small islands in the sea. The water is of emerald and turquoise color, unusually clean and transparent. There's plenty to do here for snorkelers, so it's worth taking your fins and a mask with you.
Vlichos is not very crowded because of its relative remoteness from the port and is equipped with everything necessary. Reed canopies and wicker loungers give it authenticity, and the surrounding scenery simply amazes the imagination. On the beach, there's a bar and a cafe where you can eat and wait out the heat.
Tourists coming to Vlichos often want to stay here for a few days. There is a variety of hotels, restaurants and taverns at their disposal within walking distance from the beach in the village of the same name. In the vicinity of Vlichos you can see many interesting things, such as an old stone bridge, ancient churches and monasteries.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
