Beach description
Most beachgoers at Krasavitsa Lake are residents of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. During the summer months, which attract 90% of visitors, the number of vacationers can range from several dozen to several hundred. The locals cherish this lake for its numerous advantages:
- Abundance of greenery: A dense forest begins just 3-7 meters from the coast, offering a cool retreat for picnics and a relaxing siesta. Additionally, the "brushwoods" are home to an array of berries, including blueberries, cowberries, and bilberries.
- Beautiful landscapes: The beach is encircled by towering 10-meter trees. The local nature, largely untouched by civilization, features only a few structures, stairs, and a picturesque wooden pier that serve as gentle reminders of human existence.
- Perfect conditions for fishing: Bolshoye Simaginskoye Lake is teeming with a variety of fish species, such as pike, perch, zander, ruff, bream, roach, and over ten other types.
However, the lake does have its drawbacks, including a double bottom and sudden changes in depth. An interesting historical note: these spots were favored by V. Lenin for relaxation. It is believed that his seminal work, "The State and Revolution," was penned here.
The Krasavitsa Lake Beach is situated 60 km northwest of St. Petersburg. Accessible by bus from both St. Petersburg and Zelenogorsk, it can also be reached by personal vehicle. Numerous convenient car parks are available near Bolshoye Simaginskoye.
