Krasavitsa Lake Beach
Krasavitsa Lake (Bolshoye Simaginskoe) has a long beach with coarse-grained and hard sand. Its waters are clear and cool, and the bottom is nice to the touch. There is clean air, almost no garbage (occasionally there are cigarette butts and candy wrappers), a quiet and calm atmosphere.

Most of the beach guests are residents of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. 90% of them come here in the summer, the total number of vacationers varies from several dozens to several hundred people. Locals warmly love this lake for its following benefits:
- abundance of greenery - a dense forest begins 3-7 meters from the coast. In its shadow picnics and lunch siesta are held. In addition, in the “brushwoods” blueberry, cowberry, blueberry and other berries grow;
- beautiful landscapes - the beach is surrounded by 10-meter trees on all sides. Local nature is not spoiled by civilization, just a few buildings, stairs and a picturesque wooden pier remind about human existance;
- perfect conditions for fishing - in Bolshoye Simaginskoye pikes, perches, zander, ruffs, bream, roach and 10+ other fish species inhabit.
Among disadvantages of the lake there is double bottom and sharp drops in depth. Interesting fact: these places were loved to relax by V. Lenin. There is a version that it was here that the great work “The State and Revolution” was written.
The Beach of the Krasavitsa Lake is located 60 km northwest from St. Petersburg. You can get here by bus from St. Petersburg and Zelenogorsk, and by personal transport as well. There are many convenient car parkings near Bolshoye Simaginskoye.
When is better to go?
The Baltic coast is not the warmest place with respect to air temperature or water temperature. However, from July to September, the warmest and most comfortable period in the Baltic comes: fifteen degrees Celsius will be a stable mark. But remember that in late spring - early summer, the Baltic Sea may “bloom” due to the abundance of plankton: water becomes cloudy and saturated green. During this period, swimming will be unsafe and rather unpleasant.
