Yantarny Village Beach

In the small village of Yantarny, in the west of the Kaliningrad region, there is one of the best beaches in Russia. Its length exceeds 6 km and its width reaches 40 meters. It is covered by soft white sand worthy of the best resorts in Spain. Local waters are light green and completely clear.

This beach became the first place in Russia, which got Blue Flag award. It is awarded for clear water, unpolluted air, perfectly cleaned territory and excellent state of ecology. In 2019, Yantarny remains the only resort in the Russian Federation that has received recognition from the Foundation for Environmental Education.

Along the central part of the coastline there is a wooden platform with a perfectly flat surface. It allows you to cross the beach in ordinary shoes, take a walk along the beach with a stroller, and jog with a view of the forest, sea and sand. The promenade is equipped with decorative lights that create a soft and beautiful light.

Near the beach there is a small forest. People relax from the summer heat, arrange picnics and walks there. Hiking trails pass through the green zone, and in its most beautiful part children's swings are installed. When visiting these places, it is recommended to take an insect repellent with you - mosquitoes and ticks live here.

The resort is characterized by weak waves and calm weather. Entry into the sea is sloping - depth begins at 10-15 meters. There are no pits, sea urchins and undercurrents. Sea bottom is soft, you can calmly walk on it barefoot. The safety of vacationers is monitored by several rescue teams at once.

The beach season begins in June, when the water warms up to 19 ℃ and lasts until the end of August. In January it is warm, but not hot in the resort. Even at 12 o’clock in the morning, hundreds of people relax on the shore without any discomfort. The difference between the temperature of water and air is minimal, which makes local waters very comfortable for swimming.

The beach consists of two zones:

1. central area with sun loungers and umbrellas for relaxation. It is located near the center, next to it are the best institutions and most of the services are provided. There are up to 80% vacationers;
2. peripheral zone is a bare sandy beach, equipped with basic infrastructure. An ideal place for a quiet and relaxing holiday with close people.

Interesting fact: beach was equipped after the second world war. Amber was previously being mined on its territory.

When is the best time to go?

The Baltic coast is not the warmest place with respect to air temperature or water temperature. However, from July to September, the warmest and most comfortable period in the Baltic comes: fifteen degrees Celsius will be a stable mark. But remember that in late spring - early summer, the Baltic Sea may “bloom” due to the abundance of plankton: water becomes cloudy and saturated green. During this period, swimming will be unsafe and rather unpleasant.
