Cayo Santa Maria beach

Santa Maria island is located off the northern coast of Cuba and is part of the Gardens of the King archipelago protected by UNESCO. The beauty of the local beaches and the underwater world has made the island an amazing resort.

Beach description

All island beaches are located one after the other, on its northern coast. They occupy a very long (13 km) section of white sand, washed by azure waves. The wide coastline flows smoothly into the ocean floor, and the water depth slowly increases here. It's worth considering that there's almost no calm on the island.

All island beaches are public, but served by the nearest hotels. Each part of the coast is equipped with everything you need to rest by the water. There are sun loungers and umbrellas, and snorkeling and diving equipment for rent. Bars and gift shops can also be found on hotel premises.

The local entertainment center is the tourist village of Pueblo La Estrella. There are shops, restaurants, spas, and massage parlors, bowling and discos.

When is it better to go

The most favorable time for a vacation in Cuba is the period from November to April, when the air temperature reaches + 26 °C, water – up to + 25-28 °C. The sea is calm, the probability of hurricanes is minimal.
