Playa Santa Lucia beach

Playa Santa Lucia is a beach on the northeast coast of the main island of Cuba, in the small resort town of Camaguey province of the same name.

Beach description

The coastline with a length of about 21 km and a width of up to 15 m is covered with fine white sand. The entry into the water is sloping, the bottom is sandy. There are no high waves, as part of the barrier coral reef, one of the largest in the world, runs along the beach. Playa Santa Lucia is suitable for a relaxing family vacation and active entertainment. Here it is comfortable and safe to relax with young children.

The beach has many landscaped and crowded areas with beach equipment rental, restaurants, snack bars and diving centers where you can rent equipment for diving, snorkeling, parasailing and get help in organizing diving. It is possible to go deep sea fishing. Areas of coastal hotels are particularly comfortable. Privacy lovers will like the remote corners of the beach, where it is deserted and quiet. In the lagoons of Playa Santa Lucia you can see pink flamingos.

Playa Santa Lucia is extremely attractive to divers. In the area of the beach there are about 40 dive spots. Especially popular are diving in the shark cluster area. The underwater world of the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Playa Santa Lucia is rich in variety of fauna and flora. In dense coral thickets hundreds of species of fish, mollusks and crustaceans live.

The most favorable time for a vacation in Cuba is the period from November to April, when the air temperature reaches + 26 °C, water – up to + 25-28 °C. The sea is calm, the probability of hurricanes is minimal.
