Pilar beach
Pilar - one of the most picturesque beaches in Cuba, named after the yacht Ernest Hemingway. The beach is located on the northwest coast of the island of Cayo Guillermo.

Beach description
A beach about a kilometer long is covered with very fine white sand. The entrance to the sea is gentle, the bottom is sandy, the sea is shallow. Elements of local infrastructure:
- restaurant with a beach bar and grill,
- a beach club that provides umbrellas and sunbeds for rent,
- showers,
- sports center,
- tower with an observation deck.
At Pilar snorkeling and diving are available, as well as boat trips on boats and boats. It is possible to go to the dive spots on the coral reef. The beach overlooks the small island of Cayo Media Luna, located 2 km from Cayo Guillermo, where the sports center organizes excursions. In the clear water near the shore you can see many colorful fish and purple starfish.
When is it better to go
The most favorable time for a vacation in Cuba is the period from November to April, when the air temperature reaches + 26 °C, water – up to + 25-28 °C. The sea is calm, the probability of hurricanes is minimal.

Cayo Guillermo has one of the best kitesurf schools. At the final stop of the local bus, there is a dolphinarium, visitors of which are offered an interesting program and swimming with the most reasonable and friendly representatives of the marine fauna.
