Beach description
Not so far from the shore in the water are two high limestone cliffs: Nusa Batupadasan and Nusa Batuba. Especially unusual is a natural cliff arch, which is often used as place for jumping into the water. It is worth noting that there is no rescue service, so swimming far from the shore can be dangerous.
Atuh is a snow white sandy beach with swallow entrance, but rapidly increasing depth. Blue ocean is mostly calm, thanks to surrounded cliffs. The Thousand Islands observation deck and the Rumah Pohon Tree House are equally spectacular things near Atuh, offering incredible views of the ocean, cliffs and beach.
This place is often called "hidden beach", because it's not easy to get there. To pass the cliffs it's needed to go down the steep stairs or narrow mountain trails. Infrastructure in this part of the island is poorly developed, there are no restaurants and showers. But locals sell drinks and snacks.
When is it better to go?
The air temperature throughout the year differs little and keeps within + 28-30 degrees. In the evening and at night, it is slightly cooler, but the thermometer rarely falls below +23 degrees. The water temperature is also stable. In order to avoid the rainy season (months from December to March), it is better to visit the country from May to August.
