Beach description
Maenam is a 4 km of golden loose sand, palm groves and crystal clear water. The necessary comfort and charming nature of the island are woven together, turning the beach into a first-class holiday destination. Besides, the beach is full of hotels who keep things clean.
The quality of the beach is the same on the whole territory, but nearby small rivers pollute the sea water. Clear sandy bottom, the steep slope of the shore and the great depth make the beach an ideal place for swimming for adults and not quite safe for children. Entry into the water is not difficult even at low tide, but the rainy season brings to Maenam really dangerous and strong waves.
Almost all of Maenam has palm trees, which is one of the reasons for this popularity among families with children: small holidaymakers have a huge space for games under the safe hiding place from the scorching sun.
Maenam is included in the list of the most popular and famous beaches of Koh Samui. During the high season it's difficult to find a truly private place, but it's uncomfortable to visit this place during the low season because it's deserted like any other beach of Samui.
When is it better to go
The period from November to March is considered the high season in Thailand. Comfortable air temperature, as well as minimal rainfall create optimal conditions for a beach holiday.

Maenam is mostly a family beach, so night parties and clubs are completely irrelevant here, but everything else is enough for a full island life. ATMs, laundries, various workshops, souvenir shops, grocery stores and cafes are built within walking distance, so that hotel guests do not disturb their peace. Also there is a big number of hotels on the beach. Superior rooms offered by hotels and resorts on the first line, more modest options can also be found near the sea.
Sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach are designed for hotel guests, but not far away there are cozy gazebos where tourists can order a cocktail and sunbathe in the nice company.
