Tongsai beach

Tongsai Beach is located in a bay between rocks in Northern part of Samui. People can get to it by rented car.

Beach description

Tongsai is located on the protected area of the The Tongsai Bay Hotel. The shore, 100m long and 40m wide, is covered with light soft sand. The descent is quite steep. Sandy bottom goes deep down near the shore. Water is clean and warm, often restless. The beach is well maintained. There is no natural shadow. Outsiders are not welcomed, but the entrance is free. Visitors can sit on the mat under own umbrella, but they won't be able to use restaurant, cafe and other attributes of beach infrastructure. Tongsai is a bad place for family holiday, especially for those who is not a hotel guest.

The beach isn't crowded. Hotel guests prevail among the holidaymakers. Tongsai is good for swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling near the cliffs. Kayaks, sailing catamarans, surfboards are available for tourists. Nearby are the temple complex of Plai Laem with statues of the Big Buddha, laughing Buddha and the 18-handed Goddess of mercy Guan Yin. Behind the mountain is a road with shops, restaurants, cafes, massage saloons, gas stations and travel agencies.

When is it better to go

The period from November to March is considered the high season in Thailand. Comfortable air temperature, as well as minimal rainfall create optimal conditions for a beach holiday.
