Skala Sikamias beach

There is a harbor near Skala Sikamias, where the boats of the locals are moored, but despite this, the sea here is blue and clear, and the sea air can help to recharge the energy. The pebble shore is rather narrow, the stones are large and sometimes sharp, so it is better to put on special shoes for swimming.

Unfortunately for tourists, there are no umbrellas and sunbeds to rent, showers and toilets - the beach infrastructure is not developed. But the wonderful scenery and the opportunity to swim, sunbathe and play beach games are interesting for many modern vacationers, who do not come for special comfort, but rather prefer to reconnect with nature and privacy without noisy beach parties and crowds of tourists. The local taverns cook incredibly tasty fish dishes, offer to enjoy the hospitable atmosphere and always welcome visitors.

You can get to Skala Sikamias by rented car or taxi. Service and prices are nice.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
