Beach description

Escape to the serene Bollullo Beach in Tenerife, Spain, where the only structures nearby are banana plantations. The closest residential area lies at least a kilometer away. Bollullo Beach's charm lies in its minimal infrastructure, a testament to its seclusion from bustling roads and well-trodden paths. While local residents frequent this spot, caution is advised when swimming, especially with children, due to the often strong waves and unpredictable coastal currents that can be quite dangerous.

During the summer season, a tent offering soft drinks and light snacks emerges, showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit of the locals. The beach itself stretches impressively, spanning approximately 400 meters in length and reaching nearly 50 meters in depth.

To reach this hidden gem, drive along the northern TF-5 highway and follow the signpost for Puerto de La Cruz-El Rincón, then continue towards El Rincón. Convenient parking is available at a local car park for a modest fee of 1.5€. From there, a descent past the banana plantations leads you to the beach. Along the way, nestled in the rocks, you'll find a chapel adorned with small wooden crosses crafted from local wood - a quaint touch to the scenic route.

When is the Best Time to Visit?

Best Time for a Beach Vacation in Tenerife

Tenerife, the largest of Spain's Canary Islands, is a year-round destination for beach lovers due to its mild climate. However, for the ideal beach vacation, certain times of the year stand out.

  • Late Spring (May to June): Before the summer crowds arrive, the weather is warm, and the sea temperatures are comfortable for swimming.
  • Summer (July to September): This is peak season, with hot weather and warm sea temperatures, perfect for sunbathing and water activities.
  • Early Autumn (October): The weather remains warm, but the island is less crowded, offering a more relaxed atmosphere.

While the winter months are cooler, they are still suitable for those who prefer mild temperatures and quieter beaches. Ultimately, the best time to visit Tenerife for a beach vacation depends on your preference for heat, crowds, and water activities.
