Las Gaviotas beach

Las Gaviotas is a secluded, beautiful beach on the northeastern outskirts of Tenerife. Las Gaviotas in translation from Spanish means “Beach of gulls”.

Beach description

The beach is very tiny: the length is just over 100 meters and the width is 40 meters. There are beautiful cliffs, cliffs, picturesque views. The beach has natural black sand and pebbles. In the autumn-winter season, nudists fill the beach. Despite the fact that there is almost no infrastructure here: no umbrellas, no sun loungers, no shower, no toilet, but this does not stop the lovers of unity with nature. The waves are moderate, but it is worthwhile to swim carefully, and the water is cool, as it is north. Parking near the beach is small, only for 50 cars. There are no steps going down to the coast. You can get to the beach by car, first to Las Teresitas beach near the capital of Santa Cruz, then along the TF-121 highway uphill, descending from the mountain to the Las Gaviotas signpost.

When is it better to go

In Tenerife, you can relax all year round, but the most comfortable months for a beach holiday are July, August and September. In winter, the island is prone to precipitation and strong winds. The temperature of the ocean all year round is around +21 °C.
