Socorro beach

Socorro Beach is another place on Tenerife taken a fancy by surfers. This secluded, natural black sand beach is located in the north of the island in the Los Realejos area.

Beach description

On the right and left, the beach area is framed by cliffs. The purity of four hundred meters of the coastal strip and the blue ocean earned the love of local residents and guests of the island, and also became an occasion to award the prestigious Blue Flag award to the beach. The beach has the necessary infrastructure:

  • shower,
  • toilets,
  • bins and cleaning service,
  • small eateries,
  • Wi-Fi zone ,
  • rescuers and medical services.

But the most important thing is that separate conditions are created for surfers here. They conduct their training and even competitions here. But for swimming with children, the beach is not very suitable because of the strong wave and coastal currents. The wave does not break in the coastal zone, but much further, but the currents can be dangerous. There are no traditional sunbeds and umbrellas. You can get to the beach by car. From the south, take the TF-5 highway north, after the observation deck on San Pedro, to the sign for the beach. The beach has a large parking.

When is it better to go

In Tenerife, you can relax all year round, but the most comfortable months for a beach holiday are July, August and September. In winter, the island is prone to precipitation and strong winds. The temperature of the ocean all year round is around +21 °C.
