Beach description
Flanked by cliffs on both sides, the beach area boasts a pristine four-hundred-meter coastal strip and a cerulean ocean that has garnered the affection of both local residents and island visitors. This admiration has led to the beach being honored with the prestigious Blue Flag award. The beach is well-equipped with the necessary infrastructure:
- Showers,
- Toilets,
- Waste bins and cleaning services,
- Charming eateries,
- Wi-Fi zone,
- Lifeguards and medical services.
However, the highlight is the special provisions made for surfers. The beach serves as a venue for their training sessions and even competitions. Yet, it is important to note that the beach may not be the most suitable for swimming with children due to the strong waves and coastal currents. The waves do not break near the shore but much further out, and the currents can pose a risk. Traditional sunbeds and umbrellas are not available. Access to the beach is convenient by car. From the south, take the TF-5 highway north and, after passing the San Pedro lookout, follow the signs to the beach. There is ample parking available.
Best Time to Visit
Best Time for a Beach Vacation in Tenerife
Tenerife, the largest of Spain's Canary Islands, is a year-round destination for beach lovers due to its mild climate. However, for the ideal beach vacation, certain times of the year stand out.
- Late Spring (May to June): Before the summer crowds arrive, the weather is warm, and the sea temperatures are comfortable for swimming.
- Summer (July to September): This is peak season, with hot weather and warm sea temperatures, perfect for sunbathing and water activities.
- Early Autumn (October): The weather remains warm, but the island is less crowded, offering a more relaxed atmosphere.
While the winter months are cooler, they are still suitable for those who prefer mild temperatures and quieter beaches. Ultimately, the best time to visit Tenerife for a beach vacation depends on your preference for heat, crowds, and water activities.
