Las Teresitas beach

Exotic corner

The gentle murmur of the ocean, caressing the shores of Las Teresitas Beach, is truly mesmerizing. The expansive stretch of coastline, fringed by towering palm trees, evokes the allure of an exotic jungle paradise.

Beach description

Las Teresitas is the most advertised beach on the island, located in the northern part. A wide beach strip, a kilometer long and almost 100 meters deep, along with a calm ocean, thanks to the bulk stone jetty that protects from storms, and well-developed infrastructure - all these features attract vacationers to the beach. The beach season here begins in July and lasts until the end of October. The entry into the water is even and shallow, and the ocean bottom is exceptionally clean. For this reason, the beach is popular with both locals and vacationers with children. However, some people say that sometimes the same pier becomes the reason that the water stagnates a bit, causing an unpleasant marshy smell. The mass media are periodically replete with reports that the beach is closed due to an unfavorable microbiological composition of the water. Nonetheless, thanks to this man-made bay, in the summer the ocean here is a couple of degrees warmer than in other places in the vicinity.

Las Teresitas is located in the vicinity of the capital of Tenerife. Hence, the availability of metropolitan entertainment. You can get to the beach in 20 minutes from Santa Cruz by bus, which costs 1.25€, with a stop at San Andres. The most convenient way is by a rented car, as there is an extended parking lot nearby. Take the TF-1 highway to Santa Cruz, then turn right onto TF-4, following the signs for Avenida Maritima and Puerto, and continue straight to San Andres without turning.

When is the best time to visit?

Best Time for a Beach Vacation in Tenerife

Tenerife, the largest of Spain's Canary Islands, is a year-round destination for beach lovers due to its mild climate. However, for the ideal beach vacation, certain times of the year stand out.

  • Late Spring (May to June): Before the summer crowds arrive, the weather is warm, and the sea temperatures are comfortable for swimming.
  • Summer (July to September): This is peak season, with hot weather and warm sea temperatures, perfect for sunbathing and water activities.
  • Early Autumn (October): The weather remains warm, but the island is less crowded, offering a more relaxed atmosphere.

While the winter months are cooler, they are still suitable for those who prefer mild temperatures and quieter beaches. Ultimately, the best time to visit Tenerife for a beach vacation depends on your preference for heat, crowds, and water activities.
