Medano beach

Even on a hot day, strong winds blow from the ocean near Medano Beach. Kitesurfers' sails scurry overhead, while windsurfers rush along the waves, slicing through the surface. However, due to the quite strong waves, the beach may not be suitable for small children. Despite this, life in the town is more affordable than in other resorts in the southern part of the island.

Medano boasts the only natural beach on the island with light sand, as the typical color of the beaches is black or graphite gray. The beach strip extends only 160 meters in length and reaches 40 meters in depth. There is an open shower available, but rinsing under it can be challenging due to the strong winds that splatter the water. Sunbeds and umbrellas are the most economical here, priced at only 2€. Nearby, there are cafes and restaurants where you can savor the exquisite deep-fried octopus and a variety of other delicious seafood dishes. The beach is favored by both locals and visitors - enthusiasts of strong winds and robust waves. Additionally, there is a nudist beach in close proximity.
